We don’t have Terms and Conditions, we have Values. Our Values are how we conduct ourselves with you, and how we ask you conduct yourself when you’re with us.
In using BrownBook you commit to uphold these Values (if you don't like them please move on somewhere else):
- I make edits only that I believe to be accurate and up to date – I won’t make edits that present false, inaccurate, or otherwise misleading information.
- I take a deep breath and count (slowly) to ten before writing a negative review about any business. If I must write a negative review, I will keep it objective and fair.
- I give any business the opportunity to resolve any issues offline before flaming them with a negative review.
- If I have a bad experience with a business and they subsequently make amends, I will be generous in my review of them – no-one gets it right 100% of the time, but when they fix something that’s broken they truly deserve credit.
- I won't be a vandal, and I won't drop litter - if I spot vandalism or spam I'll take a moment to clear it up.
- And finally… I realize that I can ‘add good’ or ‘add bad’ to the world; and I choose to add good.

The service
The BrownBook Service is an open business directory. Its built and maintained by everyone, for everyone, and its operated on a platform produced and owned by the us, BrownBook.
No warrantees
The BrownBook service is provided as seen, free of charge and without any warrantees specific or implied. We at BrownBook cannot guarantee, and can take no responsibility for, the accuracy of any results. If you see inaccuracies you may use our tools to make any corrections.
Obscene or illegal content
BrownBook reserves the right to remove any obscene, illegal, or otherwise offensive content.
Withdrawal of service
BrownBook reserves the right to withdraw our service at any time from any or all users.
Provision of paid services and no refunds
BrownBook's responsibilities as regards paid-for claims and promotions are fulfilled in total at the moment of payment; BrownBook does not provide subsequent refunds on claims or promotions.
Transfer of claims and disputes
Where a paid-for business claim is transferred to another member following a claim dispute, the remaining period of the claim, any associated paid-for promotions, and any sums paid to BrownBook are forfeited in favor of the new claimant. In short, you should not falsely claim a business because if it is later transferred to its rightful claimant you will not be entitled to any refund and they will inherit the remainder of the claim period and any associated promotions.
Ownership of data and your privacy
All data and information present and entered into BrownBook becomes and remains the property of BrownBook for the explicit purpose of providing BrownBook services to users. We don’t sell our data, and we don’t spam you with irrelevant junk.

These terms are subject to change over time. We will update them here.
